Best Piano Classes in Jaipur — Learn Piano & Keyboard at 12Notez

Whether you dream of playing Bollywood melodies, classical compositions, jazz standards, or your own originals, 12Notez Music Academy offers the best piano and keyboard classes in Jaipur for students of all ages and skill levels. Located in Mansarovar, our piano programme is built around the idea that everyone learns differently — so the curriculum, the song choices, and even the practice expectations are tailored to each student.
Piano is one of the most rewarding instruments to learn. It builds reading skills, harmonic understanding, and finger independence faster than almost any other instrument, which is why pianists often pick up other instruments more easily later. Whether you want to play for joy, perform on stage, accompany singers, or eventually produce music — piano is the foundation that makes everything else easier.
What You'll Learn
- Hand position and finger technique — the right ergonomics so you don't develop bad habits or wrist pain later
- Reading sheet music and chord charts — both Western staff notation and Indian sargam-style chord lead sheets
- Scales, arpeggios, and exercises — Hanon, Czerny, and modern warm-ups that build strength and speed
- Bollywood and Western song repertoire — students choose songs they actually want to play, from A.R. Rahman to Coldplay
- Music theory — harmony, rhythm, intervals, key signatures, and ear training
- Improvisation — a skill we believe every pianist should develop, not just those who play jazz
- Performance and stage confidence — twice-yearly recitals so students get used to playing in front of an audience
Classes for All Ages
We welcome students from age 5 to 65+. Whether you're enrolling your child for their first instrument or picking up piano later in life, our instructors tailor the curriculum to your age, pace, and goals. Children under 8 follow a play-based curriculum that emphasizes ear training and rhythm before reading. Teens and adults usually move faster on the technical side and spend more time on songs they love.
Piano for Kids (Ages 5–10)
Young learners need short, varied sessions. We use colour-coded notes, finger numbering games, and simple two-hand pieces from week one. Parents are welcome to sit in for the first month so they can support practice at home. Most kids can play their first recognisable song within four to six weeks.
Piano for Teens (Ages 11–17)
Teen students often come in wanting to play a specific song from a film or game soundtrack. We use that motivation — every new technique we teach is connected to a piece they care about. By the end of the first year, most teens can play 15–20 full songs and read intermediate sheet music fluently.
Piano for Adults
Adult students get a curriculum that respects their time. We focus on the songs that matter to them, whether that's old Hindi film songs, ghazals, Western pop, or worship music. There's no judgment about starting late — many of our happiest students started piano in their forties or fifties.
Course Structure
Classes are held 2 to 3 times per week, with 45-minute sessions for beginners and 60-minute sessions for intermediate and advanced students. Students progress through graded levels with regular assessments every quarter. Practice material, sheet music, and reference recordings are provided digitally so you can practice at home with the same arrangements we use in class.
Optional preparation is available for Trinity College London and ABRSM piano grade examinations. These internationally recognised certifications can be useful for students applying to music colleges abroad or wanting a structured benchmark of progress.
What Equipment Do You Need at Home?
You don't need a grand piano to start. For the first six months, a decent 61-key or 76-key keyboard with touch-sensitive keys is enough — anything from a Casio CT-X700 to a Yamaha PSR-E373 works well, and they're available between ₹15,000 and ₹25,000. Once you commit, we recommend upgrading to a full 88-key weighted instrument like the Yamaha P-45 or Roland FP-10, which feel much closer to an acoustic piano and cost around ₹40,000–₹55,000.
Don't have a keyboard yet? We offer in-studio practice slots so beginners can attend classes while they decide on a purchase. Many parents wait two to three months — long enough to be sure the child is committed — before investing.
How Long Until You Can Play a Full Song?
Most beginners can play a recognisable melody with both hands within 4–6 weeks. A full song with chords, dynamics, and reasonable expression usually takes 3–4 months of consistent practice (roughly 20 minutes a day). Reading sheet music fluently is a longer journey — typically 12–18 months — but you'll be playing songs by ear and chord chart long before then.
Group vs Private Classes
We offer both formats. Group classes (3–5 students) are more affordable and great for kids and casual learners — the social element keeps motivation high. Private 1-on-1 classes move faster and let us customise the repertoire heavily, which suits adult learners and exam-prep students. Many students start in groups and switch to private once they have a clear musical direction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know music theory before joining?
No. We teach theory alongside practical playing from day one, in small digestible doses. Students who join us with no background usually catch up quickly because everything is taught in context.
Can I learn only Bollywood songs?
Yes — many of our students focus exclusively on Hindi film and ghazal repertoire. We have arrangements for hundreds of popular Indian songs and can prepare custom arrangements on request.
Is keyboard the same as piano?
The technique transfers, but a piano has weighted keys and a wider dynamic range. We start most students on keyboard for cost reasons, then encourage upgrading to a weighted instrument by the end of the first year. The transition is smooth if you've learned the right hand position from the start.
What if I miss a class?
You can either reschedule to another batch in the same week or get a recap recording of the lesson. We don't believe in penalising students for life happening.
