Banjo tuning: Open G — g D G B D (5-string)
A 5-string banjo is usually in Open G: g D G B D. The short 5th string is a high g (a drone), and the remaining four form a G chord — strum open and you get G major.

How to tune a banjo
- Allow mic access and play the short 5th string — match the high g4 drone.
- Tune the 4th string D3, 3rd G3, 2nd B3 and 1st D4.
- Strum all five open — they should ring as a clean G major chord.
